About the Claude watermark remover
AI Watermark Remover is an independent, free tool for removing visible watermarks, logos and text from images the person editing them is entitled to edit. It runs in the browser so files never leave the device. It is not made by Anthropic and is not the Claude assistant.
What this site is
One tool that does one job, plus honest documentation around it. Most watermark removers wrap a decent model in a signup form, a credit meter, and a privacy policy that quietly reserves the right to keep your uploads. This site takes the opposite position on all three: no account, no credits, and no upload at all.
What this site is not
- Not an Anthropic product. No affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement, and no Anthropic model or API is used anywhere here. The name reflects the phrase people search for. See the disclaimer.
- Not a piracy tool. Removing a mark from work you do not own is infringement, and it is prohibited by the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Not a provenance stripper. C2PA Content Credentials and invisible AI-generation markers exist so people can tell where a file came from. Attacking them is out of scope permanently, not just for now.
- Not a law firm. Nothing here is legal advice.
Why in-browser processing
Sending an image to a server is a real decision with real consequences: a copy exists somewhere you do not control, governed by a retention policy you did not write. For a lot of the people who need a watermark remover, that alone rules out most of the market: agencies handling client photography, in house designers under NDA, anyone touching unreleased product shots.
Doing the work locally removes the question entirely. It costs some speed on older hardware and caps the practical file size, and that is a trade we are happy to make.
Current status
Text mode is live. It runs a real cleaner in your browser: it removes invisible Unicode characters, normalises space lookalikes, rewrites em and en dashes, straightens smart quotes and tidies whitespace, then hands back the cleaned text with a report of every character it touched.
Image mode is not. The interface and processing sequence are there, but the pixel reconstruction model is still in private testing, so a run ends on a notice instead of an edited image. We would rather ship an honest placeholder than a demo that pretends to work.
How it is funded
The tool is free, with no account and no credit system. If the running costs ever need covering, it will be through something clearly labelled, not by quietly selling usage data, which would break the one promise this site is built on.
