Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 August 2026 · applies to ai-watermark-remover.io

The short version: your images are never uploaded, we do not run accounts, and we do not sell or share personal data. The long version explains exactly what the site touches and why.

Summary

Images you select are read and held only by your own browser and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We do not operate user accounts, do not store uploaded files, do not sell personal information, and do not use your content to train any model.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to https://ai-watermark-remover.io (the “Site”) and the AI Watermark Remover interface published on it (the “Tool”). In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of the Site, and “you” means the person using it.

The Site is independent and is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Anthropic PBC. Using this Site does not send any data to Anthropic, and no Anthropic product processes your images through it.

2. Your images

Images are processed locally in your browser. When you choose or drag a file into the Tool, the browser creates a temporary in memory reference to that file so the page can display it. This is true in both text mode and image mode. The file is not read by us, not copied to a server, not written to any database, and not retained after the page is closed or reloaded.

Concretely, the Tool does not:

  • upload, transmit, or POST your file to any endpoint;
  • store your file, a thumbnail of it, or a hash of it;
  • read or transmit its EXIF, GPS, or other embedded metadata;
  • use your file for model training, evaluation, benchmarking, or any other purpose.

Because we never receive your images, we cannot retrieve, restore, disclose, or delete them on request. There is nothing on our side to act on. Keep your own copies.

3. Information we do process

3.1 Server logs

Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records standard request logs when a page or asset is served. These may include your IP address, the time of the request, the URL requested, the HTTP status, the referring page, and your browser’s user agent string. They are used to keep the Site running, diagnose faults, and detect abuse or attacks. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not combined with any other data source.

3.2 Cookies and local storage

The Site uses Google Analytics 4, which sets first party cookies on your device. It sets no other cookies of its own, and it does not use local storage, session storage, fingerprinting, pixels, or cross site trackers. Nothing you paste or select in the Tool is stored: the text or image mode you pick is held in memory only and forgotten on reload.

CookieSet byPurposeTypical lifetime
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted 2 years
_ga_<container> Google Analytics Holds the session state for this property 2 years

You can refuse or delete these at any time in your browser settings, or install Google’s official opt-out browser add-on. Refusing them does not affect the Tool: both modes work identically with analytics blocked, because nothing about them depends on it.

3.3 Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-5QFP39SVRE) to count page views and understand which articles people find useful. It is loaded on every page of the Site, and it is not loaded at all during local development.

Google Analytics receives your IP address, which Google uses to derive an approximate location and then discards without logging it, along with your user agent, the pages you view, the referring page, and an identifier stored in the cookies above. It does not receive anything you paste into the Tool, any file you select, any filename, or any output. The Tool does not report events to analytics, so no measurement is taken of what you clean.

Google acts as our processor for this data and may transfer it outside your country. Google Signals and advertising personalisation features are not enabled on this property, so the data is not used to build advertising audiences. See Google’s own privacy documentation for how it handles analytics data.

3.4 Email you send us

If you email one of the addresses on this Site, we receive whatever you put in that message and keep it only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any record keeping obligation.

4. What we never do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
  • We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not run behavioural advertising or retargeting.
  • We do not require an account, a password, or a payment method.
  • We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models.

5. Legal bases (UK and EU users)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our processing of server logs rests on our legitimate interests in operating a secure, functioning website (Article 6(1)(f)). Correspondence you initiate is processed on the basis of legitimate interests in responding to you, or to perform steps at your request. Because the text and images you process are never transmitted to us, we are neither controller nor processor of that content.

Analytics cookies are a separate matter. Under the ePrivacy rules that sit alongside the GDPR, non-essential cookies normally require consent, and this Site does not currently present a consent banner. If you are in the UK or EU and would rather not be measured, block cookies for this domain or use Google’s opt-out add-on, and nothing on the Site will behave any differently. We will add a consent mechanism before relying on any broader measurement.

6. Retention

Server logs are retained for a short operational period, typically no longer than 30 days, unless a specific security incident requires keeping a subset for longer. Email correspondence is retained for as long as the matter is live and any applicable limitation period. Image data is retained for zero time, because it is never received.

7. Service providers

We rely on a hosting provider and a content delivery network to serve the Site’s files. Those providers process connection data on our behalf in order to deliver pages to you. Google LLC processes analytics data on our behalf as described in section 3.3. We do not authorise any of them to use that data for their own marketing purposes.

8. International transfers

Our infrastructure may serve pages from data centres in more than one country, so connection data may be processed outside your country of residence. Where such a transfer is subject to UK or EU data protection law, it is made under an approved transfer mechanism such as the standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis of processing. If you are in California, you additionally have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises a right.

To exercise a right, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by the applicable law. Please note that we hold very little data about any individual visitor, and we hold none of your images, so in many cases the honest answer to an access request will be that there is nothing to produce. UK and EU users may also complain to their national supervisory authority.

10. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that threshold, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS and is a static site with no user database, no login system, and no image storage, which removes most of the surface an attacker would want. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third party links

Some pages link to other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them anything.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site develops. The revision date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. Material changes, in particular any change to the rule that images stay in your browser, will be described prominently on the Site before they take effect.

14. Contact

Privacy questions: [email protected]. Anything else: [email protected].

15. Legal notices

These are the standing notices that apply across the Site. They are summarised here and set out in full on the Disclaimer, the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy.

15.1 Not affiliated with Anthropic

AI Watermark Remover is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or connected to Anthropic PBC, and it is not the Claude assistant or any Anthropic product. “Claude” and “Anthropic” are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the search term this site is named for.

15.2 You are responsible for what you edit

The Tool is offered for images you own or are otherwise legally permitted to modify. Removing a watermark does not transfer any rights in the underlying work. Do not use it to infringe copyright, defeat access controls, or strip provenance signals from AI generated media.

15.3 No warranty and no liability

The Site and the Tool are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and without liability to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing on this Site is legal advice.
